I had to post a couple of interesting events this week. First off, staying at hotels a lot you often see some strange conventions, but this week at my hotel was the state Pest Control convention. Wow. So there were 50 or so trucks in the parking lot with bugs on the outside. I wonder if the hotel made an extra pest control appointment before the convention - or maybe that was a service included with hosting the meeting.

Also, it started snowing in Raleigh yesterday. Only 2 inches but it was very crazy. People left work early, and there were tons of abandonded cars everywhere. The hotel sports bar was packed with people who had just gotten tired of driving. It took a coworker seven hours to drive her 25 minute drive home. Crazy!

But at least the flight back was on time for the first time in forever. When Atlanta gets crowded they always delay the short flights since all the longer flights are already in the air and thus cannot be delayed. What a pain.

My company gave us off MLK day off for the first time ever. I enjoyed the long weekend, and it will be nice to have a short week of work. Kent and I enjoyed playing Heroscape this weekend, a new game he received over the Christmas break. It's pretty fun, and we'll have to play 3 player some time if we can talk Carter into it. He will probably think it is too complicated to be fun, but we shall see. We even got Chrissy to play a game of Settlers.

We also watched the Mexican last night. It was ok, but thinking about it later there were some parts of the story that didn't make sense. But it was interesting to watch, none the less.

Chrissy and I went out to see Miss Saigon last night. It was actually a pretty good performance, and it exceeded my expectations. Chrissy had never seen it, and she really liked it. We really enjoy Broadway musicals - we should go to more. We bought discounted tickets, but ended up in the fifth row center. The place was rather full, but they didn't discount the pricey tickets until the last minute. What a deal!

Also, one update - my sisters are both in Europe and won't be back until June. They are taking a round the world to trip, but my youngest sister is first studying in England for three months while my other sister travels about. Then they are going around the world, stopping in every continent but Antartica. I'm a little jealous about their trip.

I was in Chapel Hill for the Tech-UNC game last night. It was quite an experience. In my 20+ years of attending of attending Tech sports events I have never seen so few Tech fans. I ran into four people wearing anything close to Tech shirts or colors. And one of those four guys was a friend of a UNC guy who just "wore the wrong color"!!! Doh! We lost, and didn't look so good. But it was interesting being there.

I would want to go to the Tech-NC State game on Sunday, but I have Monday off from work so I will not be up here. Hopefully our leading scorer, BJ Elder will be healthy again soon.
