I have yet to mention that I read the Bourne Identity over break. It was a good book, and I didn't like the movie all that much. While watching the movie, I was thinking, "This is pretty interesting, but the story gets really strange." So I was pleased to see that Hollywood had again totally distorted a very interesting story into something stupid. The Hollywood government portrayed the government intelligence agencies as much more evil (not surprising considering their liberal bias). The most surprising thing about the book is that it was set in the mid to late 1970s. I had no idea it was that old, and it says something about a modern spy book that it can hold interest a quarter century after it is written.

Next up is my eBay purchase that came in yesterday - the latest Harry Potter. Just $11 (incl. shipping) on eBay. Much better than the retail price. I am also reading the latest Sean Hannity book. It is good thus far, but there are two many stupid or crazy Democrat quotes. I guess I should be shocked by the outrageous things said by Democrat leaders, but I am immune to it by now.

I received less Christmas gifts this year than any year I can remember, but it was one of the better Christmas Eve evenings and days of recent memory. My cousin Jeff and Aunt Jenny who were both recently divorced came and stayed with us, which was great.

Jeff is a techno-geek. He owns a wide variety of cutting edge technology. He brought his laptop (just replaced) with internet access through cell towers. He also brought his 8.0 MP Canon SLR camera, and his Playstation Portable. He helped set up our Tivo we bought Dad and Claire's wireless network card. He is very nice, and very helpful.

So I am buying gifts for me on eBay, since several people gave me money. I must admit I am hard to shop for. Generally if you buy me a game (particularly a strategy one) either board or computer I will be pleased.

All in all it was a good time with the family. No real drama, which is a rarity on Christmas day (you may can guess who often is at the center).

I made a cake for Chrissy's birthday. I have done a lot of baking, but I believe this is my first cake on my own. Still a boxed mix cake, but it is the thought that counts, right? :-)

I am not working for the rest of the year, so that should be nice. We will probably go visit Chrissy's extended relatives in Kentucky for a few days, but the highs are still going to be very cold. Brrr!!!

I have been on an eBay spree lately. I love it. It is so much better than traditional shopping. I have bought gifts for myself and others on it. Pretty neat.
